2020 L'Inspiration du Pere Syrah

The 2020 growing season on the Royal Slope experienced the best of both worlds with a warm spring season and an early summer while rounding off with a milder fall season to finish with optimum ripeness. The cooler temperatures in August and September slowed down the ripening phase which resulted in longer hang time on the vine and flavor development.

Overall, the 2020 growing season was an absolute dream to work with as it is regarded an almost perfect growing year in the vineyards producing wines with ripeness and elegance.

Winemaker Notes

The aromas of this 2020 Piolet Syrah exemplify the warmth and boldness of the growing season. The bouquet offers gorgeous wild notes of game meats, nicoise olives, and sea breeze alongside delicious flavors of black cherry and dark licorice. Hints of graphite and cracked pepper reveal themselves subtly.

The viscous texture of this Syrah is tempered beautifully by bright acidity with a marked saline feel. Flavors explode on the palate ensuring this deliciously succulent wine will become even more enticing over time.
